CA$260.00

Dimensions: 11 x 14 x 1
Inspiration:: In the hushed embrace of the forest, I found a stone, cradled by moss like a treasure hidden by time. Its stillness mirrored the quiet around me—no rustle of leaves, no distant birdsong, only the soft pulse of the earth. I sat beside it, my breath slowing to match the rhythm of the trees. The stone, unmoving and enduring, seemed to hold the essence of the forest’s timeless calm. In its presence, I contemplated the stillness—an invitation to linger, listen, and exist in harmony with nature’s sere

CA$1,200.00

Dimensions: 48 x 93 x 0.25
Inspiration:: I was sick-winter cold, COVID, pneumonia, or something else entirely. Sleepless nights and feverish days dissolved into obsessive, terrorizing social media doom-scrolling. In recovery, I turned to my tools and materials for grounding. Their familiar forms became anchors. The paintings, made with disruptive blasts and bleeds of color, layer outlines: intersecting, overlapping, colliding. A still life of objects with purpose—a meditation on process as agency, defiance, and clarity in work.
Materials and Process:: Painting, acrylic and graphite on felt.

Juror's Choice Award

Dimensions: 15 x 0
Inspiration:: The stillness of an empty laundromat feels profound, as if the space itself holds its breath. Machines stand silent, their glass doors reflecting the quiet glow of overhead lights. The hum of fluorescent bulbs is the only sound, a soft murmur against the silence. Air hangs motionless, undisturbed by movement. Chairs sit in perfect rows, untouched, waiting. In this suspended moment, the quiet feels infinite, wrapping the space in calm. The absence of sound and motion amplifies the presence of sti

CA$155.00

Dimensions: 12 x 12 x 1.5
Inspiration:: When I thought of stillness, I thought of that time when fresh snow falls and brings a unique silence - especially if it snows overnight when the world is already quiet. There’s something magical about fresh snow. I tried to capture this stillness as a night scene.
Materials and Process:: Acrylic painting

Dimensions: 26 x 18.5 x 1

Stasis
Stasis
Debra Gloeckler

Dimensions: 18 x 33 x 33
Inspiration:: Stasis began when my daughters moved away from home. Struggling to let go, I held onto small amounts of rainwater, preventing its evaporation and interrupting the natural water cycle. This installation, consisting of 100 dated bottles of rainwater, is a personal response to that transition. The larger bottles serve as a reflection on human interference in natural systems, an act that contributes significantly to climate imbalance.
Materials and Process:: Rainwater, 100 dated bottles on plywood, water-based finish and 5 dated bottles on plywood 36x14x14

Fallen
Fallen
Debra Gloeckler
CA$250.00

Dimensions: 13 x 10 x 1
Inspiration:: Fallen reflects on interconnection through monoprints of dry, fallen plant pieces. These prints do not depict intact plants, but rather the shadows of fallen ones, diverse species intertwined to form a negative space. Captured in the still moments when the plant pieces are in contact with sun-sensitive paper, these ghostly forms serve as reminders of the importance of biodiversity and the Earth’s delicate balance.
Materials and Process:: Rainwater, sunlight-sensitive paper, dry plant parts, handmade wood frame, natural finish or wood cradle
Critical Points of Contact
Critical Points of Contact
Debra Gloeckler
CA$350.00

Dimensions: 24 x 18
Inspiration:: Critical Points of Contact is an ongoing project that emerged during my experience of extreme weather events in BC. When it rains, hails, or snows, I place sun-sensitive paper next to a plant remaining still, present and attentive as the materials respond to one another. The paper captures fleeting moments of interaction between the environment, the plants that evolved here, and my body. Over time, the prints become a record of changing atmospheric conditions and my evolving relationships.
Materials and Process:: Rainwater, sunlight-sensitive paper
Conversation with Morandi
Conversation with Morandi
Peggy Bell
CA$800.00

Dimensions: 36 x 12 x 1.5
Inspiration:: I have been thinking of the still life artist, Giorgio Morandi (Italy, 1890 - 1964). Morandi spent his life creating soft muted still life paintings of bottles and other small objects. I relate to Morandi because he continued this focussed intention through two world wars. I love Morandi's paintings and I wanted to soften and darken my palette. I recently introduced the use of a French curve into my line design. Seen vertically the shapes in this composition are bottle-y.
Materials and Process:: Acrylic on birch panel
Custom Value Q: Here Comes the War/Sarah Spring
Recurrence
Recurrence
Jane Francis
CA$1,850.00

Dimensions: 60 x 30 x 2
Inspiration:: 'Recurrence' is one of a few renderings made from a quick sketch of a grand chandelier in an antiquated Vienna cathedral. I was moved by a sense of suspension, weight, refracted light, mystery, and shadows. In this version, I wrapped continuous lines that feel like fascia, holding the light, depth, and dazzle.
Materials and Process:: oil on wood panel
Ceramic Still Life
Ceramic Still Life
Irene Ives
CA$275.00

Dimensions: 9 x 6 x 2
Inspiration:: Traditional still life compositions often include 2-dimensional arrangements of 3-dimensional, functional pottery in everyday use. This work, though recognizably a collection of pottery vases, explores flattened, 2-dimensional-like forms that are more decorative than functional, with a more painterly surface design. As a composition, they are meant to evoke the “stillness” of a painting to celebrate ceramics as more than just a functional craft, but as an art form. $100 each - $275 for trio.
Materials and Process:: Cone 6 white stoneware clay, underglaze and sgraffito decoration and oxidation-fired

Irene Khurana
CA$450.00

Dimensions: 12 x 16 x 1
Inspiration:: In my search for the magic in all forms and subjects I was particularly inspired by Giorgio Morandi’s still lives while painting my own domestic items.
Materials and Process:: Oil on canvas
Humpback Whale Tile
Humpback Whale Tile
Memet Burnett
CA$300.00

Dimensions: 12 x 24 x 1
Inspiration:: Humpback whales require stillness, attention, and imagination to "see", as most of their bulk remains under water and the evidence of them is a fraction of their immense size. Like the Japanese garden in which the whole is never seen in its entirety, the whale can only be appreciated in parts- a flipper, the spout of an exhale, the tail flukes shown as a whale dives. Like the Japanese garden engenders quietude, so does even a glimpse of a whale.
Materials and Process:: Ceramic tiles with underglaze and glaze, mounted on painted wood cradleboard.
