Stasis
Fine Art
18 x 33 x 33
Inspiration:
Stasis began when my daughters moved away from home. Struggling to let go, I held onto small amounts of rainwater, preventing its evaporation and interrupting the natural water cycle. This installation, consisting of 100 dated bottles of rainwater, is a personal response to that transition. The larger bottles serve as a reflection on human interference in natural systems, an act that contributes significantly to climate imbalance.
Materials and Process:
Rainwater, 100 dated bottles on plywood, water-based finish and 5 dated bottles on plywood 36x14x14
