Of all the photos taken at a festive gathering, this one made me catch my breath. The subject is the sheer joy expressed by my teenage daughter, Dani, and her niece, Priya, both absorbed in that precise moment, oblivious to all else. I was struck by the oneness in their expression of utter jubilation. The image, flowing with radiant energy, is a celebration and embrace of the spontaneity of Life. The spirit of the moment is caught, converging on the vortex of their dance. Still. Alive. Forever.

In the original photograph, the field is wider with more busyness but for me, the photographer, there was only one focus, so I cropped the photo. I converted it to black and white for it lends timelessness and enhances the emotion and energy.
