Painted on location at Esquimalt Lagoon, inspiration behind this painting came from the relative calm of all creatures and things in this subject, aside from the gentle tidal flows which gave life and harmony to this majestic coastal landscape. As the artist, I was in sync with the cormorant perched on his piling, as we both took in the serenity of the moment.
